Nice to see you back here again!
Looking forward to seeing more posts from you; you have a pretty cool journal here.
I also liked the Pepsi/Justin Timberlake one.. haha. Anyways, have a wonderful week!
Just one week after the news came that a Wheeling institution Jamboree USA would resume, Mount DeChantal Visitation Academy, a girl's school that started in the 1800's announced on Friday that the May Graduation will be the last school year for Mount DeChantal. But there are some people who would like to see it stay open and a meeting is being planned at mid-week to see what could be done. When watching the 1980's Charlotte Rae series "The Facts of Life" always brought to mind Mt. De Chantal because the show focused on a all-girls school. I have no ties to Mt. De Chantal, so I don't know if there were any Blair, Jo, Natalie or Tootie types and no people who wanted to go see Jermaine Jackson, when there was a big function at the school. The people that I remember who had ties to Mount De Chantal were Missy Bailey (I forget her married name) who a WPHS Graduate, who was Athletic Director and Tennis Coach until sports were dropped. There were not many people who were students there, but some that come to mind were Joanne Jackson-Staley, a 1988 Graduate who was a student during my years at West Virginia Northern Community College and Jody Baller, whose mother Edna was employed for many years at Easter Seals that graduated in 1982 went to the school. One that went to M de C, but then went to public school in 9th grade and graduated from Wheeling Park High with me is Lynna Dunham. Also, Daniel Lowy, a retired Wheeling Rabbi was on the faculty at the school. Story on Jackson-Staley, when we were at Northern, I had a dream one night that she walked down the hall wearing a diving suit.
The cold winds have come to the area with temperatures that will hover not to see 20 in Wheeling on Sunday, it will warm Monday a little. A concern with the weather is water line breaks. Friday at home some of the water became dirty a little. Protective tablets, I guess you can call it has been purchased to get partial water clearing. Our next door neighbor called Friday night, to say the neighbor next has no water. At first, the call was that they did not get the evening paper and that they wanted to see it which usually calls are about.
The Page views at 360.yahoo reached 3,500 Thursday or Friday. For those of you that are wishing that the Presidential Election drama ended now, the Inauguration is one year from Sunday. I finally viewed my "We Are Marshall" DVD Saturday.
While Jim Sacco this week was in Columbus for training and I did not receive any info on what my computer's future was going to be with quotes from a buyer. The week of getting any e-mails was quiet. This, of course has been because AOL is playing around again with the way you e-mail people. With this weekend being a cold weekend, it would be a great chance for people to go online. I would love to hear from some of you, whether you are reading this at 360.yahoo, MySpace or the blog at My Tripod web site . Actually, I also am at a holding pattern with other things in cyberspace also and also I am dealing with a small cold that began with a sore throat which is better, to where I am now sneezing.
Reminder to all of you, the AFC and NFC Championship Games will be Sunday. Someone at the Doctor's office told someone one game will be played Saturday. But that isn't true. Then beginning Monday, you can vote for who you think will win the Super Bowl.
The first full week of filing for Public Office ended in West Virginia Friday. Next Weekend will be the postmark deadline. Sam Andy, the former Wheeling Park Basketball Coach will try to win a School Board Seat in May. The term starts if elected is July 1.
