West Virginia State Senator and Wheeling Mayoral Candidate Andy McKenzie and his wife Carrie 3 weeks ago welcomed a new baby girl into the world. Unfortunately, the baby had some medical problems when she was born and on Thursday passed away. McKenzie, was one of two West Virginia State Legislators that suffered a family loss the other was Delegate Charlene Marshall, the former Mayor of Morgantown who lost her husband and this happened one day after her fellow Delegate from the District she represents with Robert Beach returned to the Legislature after his wife gave birth to twins. Also concerning another Legislator, former Delegate Cliff Moore of McDowell County filed papers last Saturday to run for re-election in his county for his House seat, but an official from the County Clerk's office found out that his candidacy papers were not completed altogether. There is a candidate in the race for his seat and being that it is from his party, he could be on the ballot as a Write-in or of course be appointed from the other party.
Getting to myself, the word around here is the possibility of freezing rain for the overnight with a lot of people getting scared. Sure, there are a lot of people that feel that they aren't taking any chances when something like this takes place, but having to work with people who are 50 years old, it makes me feel like the days when my Paternal Grandparents would when they visit and the weather was expected to be very bad, "We better get back to Cherry Hill (Road outside of Warwood) before it gets bad". I am a little concerned because of course of the ankle injury that I sustained over a year ago. (This blog was typed Thursday night, most of you will be reading this Friday)
I want everybody to know that if you have not voted in my Super Bowl Poll at my Tripod web site , Saturday will be the last full day to vote and the results will be up for viewing this Sunday before the big game on the site. The hit total as of the time of this blog is 3,981 and that means 19 hits are needed to reach the mark.
