Nice to see you back here again!
Looking forward to seeing more posts from you; you have a pretty cool journal here.
I also liked the Pepsi/Justin Timberlake one.. haha. Anyways, have a wonderful week!
Waiting for over 6 weeks or so after I made the call to put my name to Volunteer for the 2008 Easter Seal Telethon at WTRF on Sunday, April 20th. I received a phone call on Wednesday morning and I will volunteer in the mailroom doing pledge envelopes. I did this back in 2004 in honor of the Telethon's 30th year. I had a 3 year hiatus period since because in 2005, I had called in March and they had their people, the next year, I was waiting to see if their was anything about volunteering in the newspaper and last year I was going to call, but I had injured my ankle and was in a cast. I will volunteer Sunday afternoon and will have more details on this later. My parents volunteered at the first 18 Easter Seal Telethons when WTRF began airing the Telethon in 1975. The first year they didn't do it was when John Domenick hosted that show after he had buried his dad. My parents, when they did it worked on Saturday night which had been when the Telethon started until the National portion that had been hosted by the likes of Peter Falk, Jack Klugman, even Michael Landon and mostly Pat Boone decided to end after the 1997 show.
Ironically, the call was made the day that Velma Jones, who was in the same room at the 2004 Telethon with me was laid to rest after passing away Sunday at Wheeling Hospital. She was the Secretary to the Superintendents of Ohio County Schools for 27 years. Working with Henry Marockie and Larry Jones. (No Larry and Velma were not related) Funeral was done by the current pastor of the Elm Grove United Methodist Church, Bryan Carpenter and it's pastor from 1981 to 1991, Rev. Harry Jenkins. The best years for Elm Grove United Methodist was lead by Jenkins, whose sermons from what I understand were interesting and it filled pews as a result.
Since my next blog will be a very special one. I want to remind everyone that I need to hear from you about what you want to see added or made even better on my Tripod web site. I've had only 3 hits since the e-mail was publicly told on Monday about this matter. Go to the home page and click "How can I get more Hits". I await to hear you all!
