The week for Mothers, elections and birthdays

There are a few highlights in the coming week which begins Sunday with the Mother's Day holiday is being observed. Mother's Day began in the state of West Virginia in the city of Grafton by Anna Jarvis. I almost did not send e-cards to those who are mothers, but that was accomplished Friday night.

West Virginia will be in the spotlight Tuesday when the Primary Election is held. I will have a blog Monday probably on this and then Thursday will be my birthday.

Thanks to those of you so far this month for viewing my tripod web site as I put a new picture of me onto a banner with a "Welcome to..." and the new slogan voted on last fall.

Churches are in Confirmation and Holy Communion season. My sister Marlene made her first Communion, on Mother's Day 33 years ago. I somewhat remember it because my paternal grandfather watched me and David and my mom took movies of Marlene, who was the weight of today's kids and began to exercise months later going into paternal grandfather's Buick Century. Marlene was a 3rd grader at the time. It has been lowered to second grade between that time and when David took it in 1980.
