Nice to see you back here again!
Looking forward to seeing more posts from you; you have a pretty cool journal here.
I also liked the Pepsi/Justin Timberlake one.. haha. Anyways, have a wonderful week!
Those of you who read Tuesday's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette which I saw at Vocelli's on Tuesday afternoon reported in it's edition that long time TV anchor Don Cannon will no longer report news in Pittsburgh.
Don, of course many of you will remember him living in Pittsburgh and the Tri-state for many years at WTAE-TV as co-anchor with the late Paul Long and best known for the commercials in the 1970's of seats and coffee and grabbing the papers dropped by the camera guy. Don later would co-anchor with Sally Wiggin, who is still on the ABC affiliate until Don left the station in 1995. He would return to Pittsburgh to work for KDKA in 1999. Don by the way had personal problems in the 1990's and on March 30, 1999 he returned to the air waves after weeks off and spoke about where he was and a phrase that I remember that night that I recall was "Over the last few weeks, I was the news and the news wasn't good". I remember a similar situation a year and a half later when WPXI's Peggy Finnegan returned on-air after recovering from breast cancer surgery to thank everyone for her concerns.
Those of you living outside Pittsburgh may remember Don along with Wiggin in the Bruce Willis movie "Striking Distance" I believe and was interviewed in a GSN (Game Show Network) documentary on the Pennsylvania Lottery scandal of 1980 that sent Nick Perry and others to jail.
Don will be working in the San Diego area where he has been living according to Post-Gazette TV editor Rob Owen.
