Now on to Today's entry: The Steelers and the Dolphins played scoreless football for 59 minutes and 43 seconds until Jeff Reed kicked a field goal to win the game 3-0 Monday night. It was the lowest scoring game in Monday Night Football History and also it was the first time since 1993 that it was a final score when the N. Y. Jets and the Washington Redskins, who are mourning the death of Sean Taylor at this time played to that score with the Jets winning. If you probably heard living around Pittsburgh, they had heavy rains on Monday and they delayed the game for several minutes. The Steeler game reminded me of the game played on the final week of the 1979 NFL season when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played for the old NFC Central Division title at home in a flooding type rain against the Kansas City Chiefs, who were coached at the time by Marv Levy, who would have better success as Buffalo's Head Coach where the final score ended up with the Buccaneers winning that game 3-0. That was the year, David played his first year of YMCA Flag Football and he played on the Buccaneers. The Steelers were on the losing end of previous low scoring Nationally Televised NFL Games of the past, last year they lost 9-0 to Jacksonville which ranked third in Monday night TV history in low scoring, with San Francisco winning 7-3 over the N. Y. Giants in 1990 placing second in that category. Pittsburgh and Miami have played two games in Miami in the past in the rain. Most recently in 2004 during Hurricane Jeanne and back in 1989 where Miami spotted a 14-0 lead against Pittsburgh before the Steelers won. Arlene Kohut's Christmas letter is going to be interesting in less than a month.
I had a Dental Appointment on Monday, my Dentist Dr. Michael Wilcox, who is a lookalike of Bill Forbes, who runs the Chevrolet-Chrysler dealership in New Martinsville, WV and talks like Bob on "Sesame Street" was concerned of grinding teeth while in bed at night and he asked if I have headaches in the morning. As far as headaches, the answer is absolutely NO.
