Best, Borst and Worst Holiday ads

Well Christmas was Tuesday and with it came the end of Christmas ads. While we are to be reminded that the birth of Jesus Christ was the reason for the season, here was the best, borst (It I think is middle, it's not best and it's not worst) and worst ads of the past year of the many ads that I saw.

BEST: Macy's ad with Martha Stewart, Donald Trump, store employees (I assume) and Jessica Simpson getting the store ready for Christmas.

BORST: Burlington Coat Factory Holiday Party ad where everyone dressed up, sort of Kim and Rosemary Kimmins do for 5:00 P. M. Mass Saturdays at St. Vincent dePaul Church. I put it at borst because the best part was people getting dressed up, the worst of the ad is at near the end was the voice tone of a Elementary School student saying "Everybody's a Star". Also, another that I think could rate borst was the Sears advertisements of people getting their presents and getting excited like they were contestants on "The Price is Right".

WORST: The 2 Payless Shoe Source advertisements with the parties, the first that aired in early December finds ladies wearing summer dress shoes and not wearing hose and the music saying "Gonna Snow Tonight", It got worse in the ad airing mid-December when a Shania Twain look-alike meets up with a man in a tuxedo whose outfit isn't included the supplied shoes that goes with the tuxedo that looked 1970's-ish wears regular dress shoes in which you have to tie them.

The NFL's regular season ends today. Do give the New York Giants credit for staying with New England until the mid 4th Quarter and such. Randy Moss saw a 14 game differential from one team to another team as a result of his trade from Oakland during the draft in April when Oakland went 2-14. The Steelers will play without Ben Rothlisberger, who will rest and prepare for 1 of 3 teams that they could face. The NFC is almost set and will be official at around 7:00 to 8:00 tonight.

My computer monitor on Saturday acted funny with the screen looking like a HDTV camera showing highlights on a regular TV. This happened back in April when my ankle was in a cast. The culprit likely could be the furnace and the dryer was being used by my mom on this day and they both ran at likely the same time. It could be the recipe for a problem. As you know last week, my mouse that I had been using since I got my current computer in January 2004 decided to die a slow death and will be kept until the City of Wheeling again decides to present another Electronic Recycling event in the coming year if they have one. Here is something interesting, the sermon at 2 Elm Grove Churches this day were almost the same. St. Mark Lutheran's sermon was "Getting Back to 'Normal'" and sister church according the late St. Mark Pastor Richard Gast, Stone Presbyterian was "Back to Normal". Protestant Churches use to have pulpit exchange Sunday.

By the way, I neglected to mention in an e-mail at my Stratuswave address titled "2007 Appreciation" that I want to thank those of you who e-mailed me pictures in the past year also such as "In the Beautiful Underwater" this year.

In conclusion, Many times I will type these blogs and sometimes I will leave out certain things. One of my resolutions hopefully in the coming year will be to take notes of the days activities sometimes when necessary and make blogs more talkable. Sure these blogs are typed at either before 8:00 in the morning or 11:00 at night. Plus also, there are times though when I may not want to tell you what is going on because as I will begin to use my web site's slogan that was voted on in the fall titled "My Life, Memories and More in a Positive Setting" here that focuses on the good. I will look back Monday on 2007 and I also will have a blog Tuesday on why New Year's Day marks somewhat important countdown taking place this day.
