Nice to see you back here again!
Looking forward to seeing more posts from you; you have a pretty cool journal here.
I also liked the Pepsi/Justin Timberlake one.. haha. Anyways, have a wonderful week!
The first real snow in Wheeling hit on Wednesday. I put 2 pictures up from bedroom windows at my house for people to see at my Tripod web site. I sent an e-mail after they were put up and I picked up a good amount of hits and as a matter of fact, the page views which Wednesday had been the worst day of the week 2 years ago, became the biggest day of the week. The page views are for when I need to update the web site and regular hits. That is why I always aimed new features to start on Wednesday.
I am no longer a subscriber of Valley Magazine, but there is good reason for it. The publisher, Rob Weide, who graduated from Wheeling Park High the year before I did decided to end the publication from what I understand, but did not mention to pursue other interests. (He did say that he spent most of his time on that magazine the last couple years) The magazine focused on what was coming to the area, gave when schools were on holiday breaks plus they also had stories on things that were part of the Ohio Valley in the past which included reminiscence of Downtown Wheeling when Stone & Thomas, L. S. Good and such were part of the hustle and bustle and places were open Monday and Friday til 9 and til 9 Monday through Saturday until Christmas. Rob didn't do it all by himself, he had contributing reporters and Neal Warren, who also was in Rob's graduating class took photos of many people for the magazine including Valley girls, not similar to Playboy centerfolds. I think probably it was decided that it was going to end came in September when Rob didn't present an issue. The magazine did though enjoy more readers as it became popular though. A new magazine did make it's debut that focused on Wheeling called "In Wheeling" began a few months ago with mentalist Craig Karges, a Wheeling resident who some who have attended colleges for many years has put on shows across the country and has appeared on National TV shows. I do wish Rob the very best wherever his future will take him. This is the second magazine in three years that ended it's service near the end of the holidays, Football Digest ended publication in 2005 replacing the remaining issues that I subscribed to ESPN, the magazine which I will not renew.
